Overview

We Cordially Invite You To Participate In A Very Special One-Day Event. The Center For Business Innovation (TCBI) will be presenting The Inaugural Asset Owners’ & Asset Managers’ Securities Finance Roundtable in New York City at the New York Institute of Technology Auditorium on Thursday, November 7, 2013. This unique one-day event is a must-attend gathering of the leading practitioners in Securities Finance. Special focus will be placed on defining the key problems currently confronting the sophisticated asset owner and asset manager, as well as providing real-world, effective solutions.

Why You Should Be Attending This Event: This event is the first in a series that will offer a true insider’s view and will provide sophisticated asset owners & managers with valuable tools for improving their programs and educating their boards. While rich in content, it has been designed to maximize your convenience as well, with the program limited in duration to a single day of in-depth programming in New York City.

Securities Finance & Securities Lending is currently in a state of transition. The profound changes to an otherwise staid business began in 1994 with the Fed dramatically raising interest rates. The damage sustained in many portfolios as a result of this tightening was followed over a decade later by the global credit crisis of 2008. These signature events dramatically transformed the industry from a sleepy backwater to a front-page industry. The Industry continues to reinvent itself in a time of unprecedented International regulatory overhaul, legislative gridlock and gradually rising ultra-low interest rates. This Event has been specifically designed to enable sophisticated asset owners to synthesize the valuable lessons learned from the past to prepare for the unprecedented changes ahead. The sessions will provide a broad perspective on numerous investment management processes and will elucidate the overall role that Securities Finance plays in derivatives and portfolio management.

Led By Four Of The Industry’s Best Thinkers And With An Agenda Rich In Interactivity, Our One-Day Event Features Four Distinctive Roundtables, Where The Audience Will Have The Final Word.

How The Roundtables Will Work: In each roundtable, the discussion leader will fully lay out the topic from both a domestic and international perspective. Next, a leading practitioner will discuss how they plan to operate their program within the new paradigm. The practitioner will then call upon the roundtable moderator and other event speakers to broaden the discussion on a real-time, unscripted basis. Most Significantly, In Each Roundtable Workshop, The Discussion Leader Will Invite Select Audience Members To Join The Discussion Directly On The Stage With The Other Workshop Participants. Each roundtable workshop will not conclude until the group discussion is over. This interactive “Unconference” approach will enable the audience to actively drive the agenda and not passively absorb each individual discussion.

The Speakers: The event features veteran instructors as well as leading industry practitioners who have many years of experience in working with asset managers in sophisticated problem solving capacities. They will be freely sharing their expertise over the course of the day. In addition, leading asset owners and asset borrowers will complement the discussions, both from the audience and the stage.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Asset managers, custodians, agent lenders, prime brokers, investment consultants and law firms as well as securities lending technology companies and analytics companies.
