Stuart Lackey, Co-Founder & CEO, Solaster

Stuart Lackey is the Co-Founder and CEO of Solaster, a platform designed to empower the creation of decentralized applications for economic resiliency in healthcare. In 2000, Stuart moved to Nashville, TN and immediately observed the enormity and impact of the local healthcare scene. Over the last 15 years, he has worked in the med-tech startup world, bringing new, disruptive technologies to market in the surgical device arena across the US. Throughout his career, he has spent considerable time in consulting with healthcare providers in the area of economic and clinical value assessment of new technologies. With that, he has also observed some of healthcare’s biggest challenges: administrative waste, misaligned incentives and overspending across the continuum of care. In mid-2016, Stuart first began researching the healthcare implications of distributed ledger technology and became extremely passionate around its potential to empower global patient populations. It was this interest in the concept of patient sovereignty that helped inspire Solaster.

Currently, Mr. Lackey is writing his capstone thesis in the area of “Blockchain for Health” which will complete his Master’s degree work in Healthcare Informatics at Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN.
